Report from the President: 2025
Dear ABEABC Members and Groundwork Readers,
It has been a pleasure and a joy to serve as the ABEABC President for almost two years. I am filled with appreciation for each member of our association for their continuous support as well as for our Board of Directors and Executive for their dedication, hard work, and enthusiasm. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I am tremendously proud of many tasks and projects that we have accomplished together in this past year. From the updating of the ABEABC website to the publishing of an outstanding issue of Groundwork, magazine, and from the fundraising efforts to the planning of the upcoming annual ABEABC conference in Victoria, we have indeed achieved a lot.
I am extremely excited and thankful that Camosun College will host our annual conference on April 24 and 25, 2025. The theme of this year’s conference is “Authentic Learning in a Digital World”. The Conference co-chairs lined up a number of highly motivating keynote speakers and presenters. I hope you are ready to celebrate innovation, creativity, and connectivity while sharing best practices and learning from one another.
I invite you to engage with the ABEABC this year—whether by becoming a member, attending our annual conference, presenting and sharing your expertise, contributing an article to Groundwork magazine, becoming a sponsor, or simply helping us advocate for Adult Basic Education across our province.
I am sending my best wishes and hope to see you all in the beautiful Victoria!
